Cookies are one of life’s greatest little pleasures, and they become even more special when you give them as gifts. But the presentation is part of what makes the present (it’s even included in the same!).

With a few simple steps, you can wrap cookies for gifting beautifully, quickly, and easily. Whether it’s for the holidays, a birthday, a teacher gift, or a neighborly surprise, this wrapping technique will make your cookie gift look as good as it tastes (channeling Martha Stewart here…), and make the recipient feel even more loved.

How to Wrap Cookies

  1. Wrap the cookies: Get some parchment paper, white or brown, your choice. Put a little stack of cookies in the middle of the parchment. Fold over the sides and then the ends, just like you would if you were wrapping a present. Or a sandwich at the deli, if you’ve ever worked at a deli. Same same.

Tip: If you’re worried about the cookies sticking together, put a small square of parchment or wax paper between the layers.

  1. Tie it with twine: Tie the packet like you would tie a present. (It’s not like you would tie a deli sandwich unless you actually are, in fact, Martha Stewart.) If you don’t feel particularly dexterous, have someone hold the packet while you tie it.
