Preheat the broiler, and place the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
Pour the olive oil into a baking dish large enough to hold the fish filets. Add the basil, oregano, thyme, paprika, garlic powder, and cinnamon, and stir to blend the spices into the oil. Place the salmon into the pan and flip them around until they are coated with the herbed oil. Arrange the salmon filets top-side up. Season with salt and pepper.
Broil the salmon for 8 to 10 minutes, until they are almost done to your liking. Remove the fish from the oven and drizzle them with the lemon juice and maple syrup. Return them to the broiler and broil for another minute or two until done. Transfer to a serving platter or individual plates and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Notes
You can use frozen salmon, but I prefer thawed/refrigerated so it is easier to control the cooking and the level of doneness.
