Sample Email To Solicit Volunteer Parents
Subject line: [fill in name of school] Parent Bakers Needed for “Bake Your Teacher a Thank You” Cookie Day!
Dear [fill in name of school] Parents,
Please join us in this year’s hands-on initiative during National Teacher Appreciation Week to show our appreciation for the [fill in name of school] staff. We are asking the parents and families of [fill in name of school] to bake cookies for the faculty and staff to say thanks for all the great things they do for our children.
Here’s how it will work:
1) For [fill in date], we are asking parents (and kids!) to bake [fill in name of cookie recipe]. (Please note the cookies can be made ahead of time and frozen or stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.).
2) We would like at least [fill in number] volunteers to bake a batch of [fill in name of cookie recipe]. The recipe will be send out in an email to follow. More volunteers welcome! Please email [fill in name of person coordinating volunteers] to let [her/him/me] know you would like to bake.
3) On [fill in date], all of the cookies need to be delivered to (fill in location) by [fill in time], where a Teacher/Staff Appreciation Committee volunteer will collect them and ensure that they are distributed so that the entire [fill in name of school] faculty and staff has access to them, and know that they are a “thank you” from the [fill in name of school] parents.
Thank you in advance for joining us in this new effort, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
Best,
